MUSIC
CHANCEL CHOIR
Singing in a choir has been discovered to be one of the most beneficial experiences an adult can have for body, mind, spirit and well-being.
We meet each Wednesday from 7:01-8:10 pm to worship through our deep study of the musical texts and the learning of the music. We prepare each week to sing for the 11 am service on Sundays.
You are invited to join our Chancel Choir! We would be honored to have you.

HANDBELL ENSEMBLE
Anyone can enjoy a variety of opportunities to grow as musicians through our handbell program.
All our handbell choirs participate in worship, special services and local festivals throughout the year. We currently have one bell choir that meets on Monday evenings from 6:00pm – 7:00pm. The program is also open to new members year round. We always welcome experienced ringers as substitutes for rehearsals and performances. Direction by Jonna Young suggests much laughter and joy through all rehearsals.

The fun begins on August 28, 2024 for the Fall.
Up and Coming!
We are looking forward to an exciting fall in the Music Ministry.
On October 19, 2024, our Chancel Choir will travel to Lovers Lane UMC in Dallas, Texas for a choral clinic with Choirs Across Dallas. The clinic will feature Heather Sorenson, Rosephanye Powell (Auburn University), Reginal Wright (Baylor University) and Craig Courtney, renowned composers here in the United States. There will be a concert to close the event with an orchestra and a multiple church choir to raise money for The Grace Center Texas.
Plans are sizing up nicely for our Christmas season. We will be offering a Christmas Cantata for our congregation and community this December. Dates are coming soon.
In the Spring of 2025 we will be hosting a Handbell Festival for any bell choirs across Texas who would like to participate. The date for this event will likely be February 22, 2025. The clinician will be Thomas Williams who serves as the Director of Music and Worship Arts at First United Methodist Church of Ft. Worth, Texas.
THE MISSION OF FIRST WEATHERFORD IS TO LOVE GOD,
AND TO LOVE AND SERVE OTHERS.
