We strive to Love Weatherford in the following ways...

We partner with a number of local agencies and ministries to serve our great community.

  • Manna Storehouse – We serve this all volunteer agency in Parker County by preparing and serving turkey dinner baskets every Thanksgiving. We also have a number of individuals who serve weekly in the food pantry and clothing stores. Click here to learn more about Manna Storehouse.
  • Center of Hope – FMCW has served at Center of Hope Parker County for many years. Our mission is to plan, prepare and serve a meal to approximately 200 clients each day. We serve for two days each quarter, four times a year. It takes many hands to make this happen. We as a congregation have areas of food preparation, serving food and ministering in prayer and conversation. Volunteers are the heart of this service. Please consider joining us in this ministry opportunity. We also provide food for Christmas baskets every year, along with having the opportunity to hand those baskets out. • Camp Hope – Camp Hope is a summer ministry that serves children and families in Parker County by nourishing them physically, emotionally, and spiritually. While this program offers twelve weekly camps in low-income neighborhoods, FMCW facilitates one of those twelve weeks.  At Camp Hope kids learn to prepare healthy meals and practice important life skills like communication and decision-making. Each camper receives books to keep, groceries with both fresh and nonperishable items, and ongoing mentoring support. Through Camp Hope, youth and volunteers alike experience community, growth, and the joy of serving others. Click here to learn more about Camp Hope.
  • Crossroads Youth – Monthly, we serve a meal and connect with the youth of Crossroads Youth Ministry. Click here to learn more about Crossroads Youth.
  • Hearts Full of Love –Hearts Full of Love is a volunteer-led ministry dedicated to serving under-resourced residents in Parker County and sharing the love of Jesus. The HFOL Team is made up of individuals from various churches and backgrounds, provides hope and practical support to men, women, and children in the community. HFOL welcomes volunteers to join us in outreach efforts, donation drives, and other service opportunities. • Sanctified Hope – Sanctified Hope is a Christian-based transitional home for women being released from prison. It is a 10-month program with a graduation after 12 months. The women are provided a home environment and scripture-based studies. Sanctified Hope also assists in fulfilling the requirements attached to their release from prison. The program is entirely dependent on volunteers and donations. You can be an essential member of this ministry by volunteering to drive participants to appointments, pick up new participants from the bus station, mentor a participant, or facilitate lessons. • Grace House – Grace House Ministries provides hope, life, and knowledge through the services we provide the community. Grace House offers many of their services due to the commitment of volunteer staff, each gifted with their own talents and strengths. If you want to make a difference as a volunteer staff member consider the following opportunities: Office Administration, the Pregnancy Center, Pure Truth, or The Options Clinic. Click here for more information about Grace House Ministries.
  • Sew Blessed – Sew Blessed is now in its third year. We are a group that meets every Tuesday morning from 9:30 to 11:30 in Akard Hall. No sewing required to come. Along with machine sewing, we offer hand sewing, fabric cutters, irons, and pillow stuffers. Some past projects include: pillowcases for Lone Star Santa & Ronald McDonald House, clothing protectors for nursing homes, walker bags for assisted living homes, receiving blankets for JPS & Grace House, and numerous small bears for the Shoebox Ministry. We have also provided heart pillows & port protectors to Baylor Scott & White and Texas Health. We hope that you will join us!

We strive to Love Weatherford ISD in the following ways...

We directly support the staff, students and families throughout the school year.

  • Kids Hope USA – Kids Hope USA is a national organization that equips churches to send trained volunteer mentors into local schools. There, each mentor is matched with one student and commits to being a consistent, supportive, encouraging adult in that child’s life. The mentor spends about one hour per week with their student. The mentor is supported behind the scenes by a Prayer Partner who will pray for the mentor and the student. We love the child, as Christ loves us.  Click here to learn more about Kids Hope USA.
  • Weekend Food Backpacks – The Backpack Ministry packs bags typically on the first Wednesday of the month, from September to May, at 9:30 a.m. in the FLC. We provide (12-14) snack food items for the weekend for kids in need, submitted by the teachers and counselors at Curtis and Ikard Elementary.
  • School Clothes – At the beginning of each school year, we work with school counselors to provide clothes and shoes to students in need at WISD elementary schools.  In addition, we provide clothes and shoes as needed throughout the school year.  Volunteers shop, pack backpacks, and deliver to the schools.
  • Angel Tree –Angel Tree is a heartwarming mission that brings joy to underprivileged children by providing them with Christmas gifts they might not otherwise receive. Volunteers select cards listing a child’s needs, including clothing, shoes, and toys, and help make their holiday season brighter. The program runs for approximately two months each year, providing a meaningful opportunity for individuals and families to serve and share God’s love during the holiday season.
